Amendsly

Terms of use

Purpose

Amendsly is an app for Shopify stores that collects customer reviews after delivery, routes dissatisfied feedback to the merchant's customer support rather than to a public platform, prepares a draft reply using artificial intelligence, and gathers the public reviews of the connected platforms.

Installing the app constitutes acceptance of these terms.

What the merchant keeps control of

  • No message is sent to a customer without approval. Replies to complaints only go out after the merchant explicitly approves them, and the merchant can edit the text beforehand.
  • The goodwill-gesture cap is set by the merchant. The AI can never propose anything above it.
  • Sending and retention delays are adjustable from the account.
  • The merchant can disconnect their store or uninstall the app at any time, which triggers erasure of their data.

Review collection and compliance

Amendsly does not practise review gating. A customer who gives a low rating is shown two strictly equally weighted options— contact customer support, or publish their review directly — presented identically, in line with Google's and the FTC's rules on the matter. The merchant cannot prevent a customer from publishing their review.

Data processing agreement

This section constitutes the data processing agreement between the merchant and Amendsly. It applies to the personal data of the merchant's customers.

Roles. The merchant is the controller. Amendsly is a processor and acts only on the merchant's instructions, expressed through installing the app and configuring the account.

Scope.Customers' email addresses, the text of the complaints they write, and the ratings they give. The detail is set out in the privacy policy.

Use limitation. This data serves solely to provide the service to the merchant. It is not sold, not used for advertising, not shared between merchants, and not used to train artificial-intelligence models.

Sub-processors. Supabase, Vercel, Resend and Groq act in the roles described in the privacy policy. Any addition of a new sub-processor handling customer data will be announced to merchants before it takes effect.

Security. Encryption in transit and at rest, per-merchant data isolation enforced at the database level, separation of the development and production environments, restricted access.

Erasure.Data is anonymised automatically once the retention periods expire, and immediately upon a customer's erasure request or on uninstallation of the app.

Assistance. Amendsly assists the merchant in handling the data subject requests they receive, and informs them without undue delay of any data breach affecting them.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Amendsly depends on third-party services — Shopify, Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Groq — whose outages may affect how it works.

The merchant remains responsible for the content of the replies they approve and for the goodwill gestures they grant.
